| THE SUPER DUPER NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS KIMBERLY WILL RETURN TO CAT HIGH FOR '08-09 With the success of last year's school program, Kimberly has been invited to return to CAT High to continue and refine the program. With her focus on this Envision School (www.envisionschools.org), Amber has moved into an even more prominent roll and taken the reigns for our other school programs! As we continue to grow our educational programs, shows and studio classes have been placed on hold. See our bios for where you can catch us teaching or performing with other organizations. AMBER LEADS SYCAMORE VALLEY TO 5th YEAR IN OUR PROGRAM Sycamore Valley Elementary completed its 5th year as part of our after-school programs. With both Fall and Spring programs slated to continue for th 6th, '08-09 school year, we are enjoying the growth of our students in this consistent program. Our first graduate will move on to Middle School after participating since 1st grade and becoming an assistant director and mentor in her final year as a seasoned 5th grader! Go Allison! KIMBERLY COMBINES FORCES WITH CITY ARTS & TECH HIGH Early in 2007, Kimberly began talks with Envision schools and eventually City Arts & Tech High School about creation and implementation of a program that uses theatre aspects to enhance reading comprehension skills of all 9th graders. DEVELOPING A DISTRICT WIDE ARTS INTEGRATION PROGRAM Kimberly has been asked to work with one of the Bay Area's largest and long suffering school systems to develop, create, implement a district wide arts in education program unlike any other in the United States. Just a few more hurdles to jump and the pilot program will be on track to start in Fall of 2007. 2006-07 SCHOOL PROGRAMS KICK-OFF LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR SCHOOL PROGRAMS The SUPER DUPERS continue, yet another year of bringing integrated arts into the classroom of Bay Area schools. The Super Dupers on MySpace Become part of The Super Dupers' Space ONCE UPON A WISHBONE - December 2005 Created for all ages, the story combines traditional Christmas nostalgia with haunting images that touch on favourites such as The Gift of the Magi and Little Matchstick Girl. Using painting, sculpture, live music and puppetry, the audience is invited to explore and interact as they discover the story of Charlotte, a little girl who makes a secret wish on Christmas night. Dreamweavers Theatre, Napa ADVENTURES THROUGH WHIMSICAL WINTERLAND - December 2005 Through interactive theatre the all-ages audience journey through magical Winterland guided by a band of traveling misfits. Part improvisation, part scripted, and part musical the audience suggestions and participation create the stories, scenes, characters, and songs. With a nod to all of the Winter holidays - Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa - this show is perfect for all ages, faiths, and magical beings. Cue Productions Live!, Concord Tuesday, OCTOBER 4, KATRINA FLOOD BENEFIT IMPROV REVUE Sponsored by Bay Area Theatre Sports and The Improv Alliance, The Super Dupers appeared as one of 15 groups that came together for this exciting event. Total Amount raised: $1,726.00 that went straight to the Louisiana Recovery Foundation. 2005 FALL EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH IN FULL SWING Our calendar is joyfully filling up with assembly programs and after-school enrichment. It's not too late for your school to get on board. We are pleased to add Harvest Park Middle School and Alisal Elementary School, both of Pleasanton, CA, as new schools to our programs. THE FIRST ANNUAL SUPER DUPER RETREAT September 19 & 20 Super Duper company members, featured players, and guest artists headed off to a cabin in the woods to hone our crafts, prepare for upcoming shows, practice our art, and enjoy the cool and wonderful people that we get to call our friends and colleagues. CLICK HERE to read the full description DELTA CITY IMPROV BECOMES THE SUPER DUPERS May, 2005 - The addition of several performers and staff members combined with the new direction the organization is taking, we are pleased to announce that Delta City Improvisation is changing our name and image to more closely reflect who we are. The new name will be The Super Dupers and will take effect first with our performance ensemble. SCARED SCRIPTLESS - IMPROVISED MURDER MYSTERY Friday May 13, 8pm & Friday May 20, 9pm Scared Scriptless, features the audience as the brave campers of Camp Friday guided by the cast as their fearless bumbling counselors. Together they must create and solve the mysterious murders. 2004-2005 EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH CULMINATES April 29 will mark the end of another very successful year for our educational outreach program. During this school year we provided assembly programs, after-school enrichment, and staff development. Saturday, January 22, ImproviNations - Disaster Relief Benefit Show Thanks to all who attended this performance. We earned $340 that was sent directly to UNICEF. Special thanks to the performers, Kimberly MacLean and Amber J. Price of Delta City Improv., Christian Utzman and Dave Dyson of Un-Scripted Theater, and THE Joshua Raoul Brody of everything. THE TALE OF THE WICKED WINTER WITCH IS A HIT The Tale...ran Nov. thru Dec. of 2004 to good houses and wonderful audience feedback. The incredible cast, supportive crew, and excited audiences made this a wonderful experience that we hope to relive in 2005. OUR FEARLESS LEADER TEACHES THE TEACHERS In October of 2004, Kimberly MacLean was invited to be part of the California Educational Theater Association's annual conference. Her workshop focused on using improvisational theater games in core curriculum and theater classes. |
